More Neighborhood Wanderings

There is a rail spur at the end of my street. I have taken to noticing the boxcars and tank cars that are left there before being taken away. I found the stains, rust and dirt on them added a character and a certain beauty. I took the image and brought them up in Photoshop then simply popped their colors. Until I enhanced their colors I was not seeing in my image that I tried to capture when I took the photo. I felt bad about not being able to capture the image in my mind without assistance until I read an Ansel Adams book. The number of individual dodges and burns he used in each of his prints made me think that he would be a fan of Photoshop today. Please do not think that I in anyway think that Adams did not understand exactly what he was doing when he took the picture. Just that he felt much of  its creation was executed in the darkroom and not merely by pressing the shutter. Photoshop is a tool that can help you find your vision, it can not create it.
